About Us

Hi, I'm Nigel Maine and thanks for taking the time to find out a bit more about us.  Market and Motivate is a family run marketing agency with a passion for providing great business development solutions for small businesses.

With a background in direct sales working in office interiors (design and build) and technologies (data, telecoms and business software), we have a long history of consultancy and business to business marketing in some of the most competitive industries around.

The Growing Divide

We realised there was a growing divide between the fantastic technologies available and the ability for marketers to deliver the type of services that helped businesses generate an income, not just in terms of promotional activities but also in terms of the systems they used in house.

In a way, it seemed that sales people were becoming more distant from the needs of businesses simply because they were not being trained to understand how a business had to function. And when it came to integration, no-one really knew where to start.

How Market and Motivate adresses these aspects:

There are three main aspects of trading online or anywhere else for that matter:-

Being advocates of Michael Gerber's multi-million best seller book The E-Myth, we strive to help you to work "on" your business instead of simply working "in" your business.  You know what its like; you end up doing it, doing it, doing it and never get to take a high level view or plan your direction because there's too much work to do.

Its not a matter of "poacher-come-gamekeeper" but taking the unusual step of moving from direct sales & management in to marketing provides significant benefits due to our practical insight and awareness of the buying cycles and psychology of your customers.
